fidelitybankTHE Fidelity Bank Helping Hands Programme (FHHP) has been identified as a veritable tool to reducing the growing inequality in the society.

Sokoto State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who made the observation, while commissioning the state’s Orphanage Home, renovated by staffers of the lender, commended the initiative.

Speaking at the occasion, the Governor said that such gestures are rare, especially among organizations whose operations are commercially driven, saying: “I must say that I am elated by the wonderful gesture from the bank. It is a testament to the enthusiasm and concern for the welfare of the people of Sokoto State, especially the less privileged in the society.

“The project of this magnitude and its choice is an indication that Fidelity Bank is truly acting according to script of empowering the good people of Sokoto State and by extension, Nigeria”.

He praised the Management of the Bank for their vision and urged other corporate organisations in the state to emulate the good work.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Fidelity Bank, Nnamdi Okonkwo, said that Corporate Social Responsibility is a way of life at Fidelity Bank.

Okonkwo who was represented by the Executive Director, North, Mohammed Balarabe, attributed the growing culture of giving back to the society on the focus of the management and founding fathers of the bank.

He expressed satisfaction in knowing that some good had been done and stressed that the goal of grooming a crop of socially responsible young men and women within the ranks of the bank was on course.

The Fidelity Helping Hands programme (FHHP) is the bank’s multi-purpose CSR vehicle set up primarily to give back to the communities where the bank does business and also raise a new generation of executives who love social investment.
