NAMA trains 100 air  traffic engineers

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, (NAMA) has trained about 100 engineers in the last one year and more importantly in the critical air traffic control sector.

The acting Managing Director of NAMA, Emmanuel Anasi who disclosed this during the celebration of the annual National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAEE) in Lagos reiterated the commitment of the agency to capacity building, regular training and retraining of its personnel to acquire modern skills and technology to make it deliver on its statutory goals.

The national president of NAAE, Ebenezer Makanjuola who corroborated the acting NAMA boss’ claim, disclosed that about 70 members of the association also benefited from other various trainings sponsored by the agency.

Makanjuola expressed delight that License and Rating for Electro Mechanical Services department of NAMA has been restored while the process of clearing backlog was going.

The NAAE president explained that the process of the harmonization of allowances for the College of Aviation Technology Zaria, chapter of NAAE was on going as they were dialoguing with the management.

While urging members of NAAE to uphold professional etiquettes, respect hierarchies and be accountable for their actions in the course of their duties, Makanjuola warned against compromising standards.

He urged members to carry out their jobs with dedication and selfless services as the lives of air travellers depend on their professional in puts.

Makanjuola appreciated the support of the management of NAMA, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority NCAA and other sister agencies in the aviation sector.
