To reduce the adverse effect of COVID-19 on businesses, expert have stressed the need for Small and Medium Scale Enterprise (SMEs) operators and other managers to leverage technology tools and digitise their structures.

At a press organised by the Nigerian-British Chambers of Commerce (NBCC) to unveil its forthcoming conferences and exhibitions slated for March 22 and 23, 2022 in Lagos, Vice President, NBCC and Chairman, Trade and Investment Committee, Akin Osuntoki said aside tragic health hazards and human consequences, the pandemic has caused a lot of economic uncertainties, and disruptions to businesses.

He said the NBCC has concluded plans to hold a two-day conference with theme: ‘Fast Tracking Productivity –Leveraging Technology’, aimed at facilitating long-term recovery by bringing together business leaders, investors and policy makers and other stakeholders in the trade and investment ecosystem to share insight and more knowledge on the theme.

According to him, the NBCC is poised to ensure that it serves an efficient platform that affords member businesses the opportunity to exhibit their brands and provide services to potential investors, thereby facilitating new partnerships, fostering market opportunities and encouraging public private partnership.

He said the programme would also afford businesses the support needed to network, make connections, seal deals and realise their potentials.

“Coming out of the covid 19 pandemic, most businesses have been affected and quite a number of those who stayed ahead were able to do that using technology.   “So we think the lessons of that could be shared and indeed taking further to ensure that companies participate and learn from each others and are able to move forward.

“ I see SMEs doing more of what others have done, working together to effect some of the solutions that would will come up, doing more than they used to do in the technology space. That means helping their businesses to move to the next level.”

“We called a press conference to intimate the public on our NBCC conference and exhibition coming up on march 22nd and 23rd 2022 , the exhibition is a two day event and we have lined up notable speakers.

“They will be talking to us about staying ahead of business challenges, SMEs companies who are faced with various challenges and they will be learning from the experts on how to stay ahead of these challenges and how to move heir companies to the next level,” he said.
