NITAD stresses importance of learning for capacity devt

The Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) has restated the importance of continuous learning and development (L and D) to enhance workplace capabilities.

The Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) has restated the importance of continuous learning and development (L and D) to enhance workplace capabilities.

Noting its importance, the institute emphasised that the effects of L and D at the workplace should not be handled with kid gloves.

President of NITAD, Ayoade Igbeyi, said this ahead of the institute’s 28th yearly trainers’ conference, slated to hold from September 7 to 9, 2021, at Abeokuta, Ogun State, with the theme ‘Beyond Learning to Performance’.

She stressed how training has helped organisational performance through continuous L and D process.

Conference Chairman, Dr. Oladele Oyatope, said the conference would serve as a forum where professionals and practitioners would brainstorm to compete more effectively in the digital world, delivering training means, strengthening core competencies and fostering new capabilities.

He said the conference, packed with different topics would attract the likes of Governor of Ogun State, Dr. Dapo Abiodun, who will declare the event opened and the state’s head of service, Selimot Ottun, as special guest of honour to deliver the keynote address.

Chairman, Communication Committee, NITAD, Benson Aruna, disclosed plans by the institute to develop learning content for organisations, how individuals and organisations can build and develop capacity to determine what they want to become.
