OAAN Elects New President, Commissions Secretariat

2015 OAAN Poster AwardsMEMBERS of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) has elected Mr. Babatunde Idowu Adedoyin as their the new president. Adedoyin, who Managing Director of Media View Limited, emerged during the 30th Annual General Meeting of the association at Golden Tulip Hotel, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, recently.

He contested the position with Mr. Ladi Sole of Uniksites Nigeria Limited. Other new executive members of the association include Mr. Emma Ajufo, who was elected Vice President; Femi Ogala, General Secretary; Atilola Williams, Treasurer; Obi Nnaobi, Publicity Secretary; and Mr. Tunde Oyekan, Assistant General Secretary.

The Ex-Officio members are Modupe Lawuyi, Bidwell Okere and Churchill Nwagwu. Adedoyin started his career at the Corporate Head Office of Barclays Bank (now First bank) in Marina, Lagos. He furthered his education at Middlesex Polytechnic in the United Kingdom, where he read Marketing.

Mr. Adedoyin had his National Youth Service programme at Berec Company in Isolo, Lagos between 1982 and 1983.  Also on the same day of the AGM, the outdoor body officially opened its own house located on Kofo Kasumu Avenue, Lakeview Phase 1 Estate, off Ago Palace Way, Amuwo Odofin. The commissioning was part of activities put together for the 30th Annual General Meeting of the association. Inaugurating the twin-duplex edifice, the Registrar, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, APCON Alhaji Bello Kankarofi congratulated OAAN on the achievement.

The building was completed by the outgoing administration led by Mr. Charles Chijide. Chijide commended the foresight of his predecessors — Chief Babu Akinbobola, High Chief Jas Kolawole Oyekan, Chief Ipoola Omisore and Otunba Kole Ademulegun — for “ensuring that the dream to have our OAAN House is realised”.
