The much-anticipated Sabistation Business Owners Awards (SBOAwards), scheduled for October 22, 2024, has revealed its prestigious jury for this year’s edition. This panel, made up of accomplished professionals from diverse fields, will be tasked with identifying and honouring outstanding entrepreneurs, businesses, and innovators across industries. The awards celebrate contributions to economic growth, innovation, and social impact, setting the stage for excellence in business leadership.

At the helm of the jury is Kelechi Decca, a distinguished economist and celebrated business journalist. As the Editor-in-chief of both African Economy magazine and The Economy Nigeria, Decca brings a wealth of experience in economic strategy and business insights. His leadership will guide the jury in evaluating entries with rigour and expertise.

Other notable members of the jury include Abdulwahab Umoru, Manager of Government & Community Relations at America Tower Corporation (ATC) Nigeria, and Kenneth Enoruwa, a respected financial expert and training professional. The panel is further strengthened by the inclusion of Nelly Agbogu, the visionary founder of Nellies Nigeria and the influential Naija Brand Chick platform, known for empowering entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

Adding a global perspective, Dr. Jamie Pajoel, founder of Workplace Leadership Institute in Canada, brings his expertise in leadership development and workplace innovation to the jury.
In support of the jury’s work are the secretaries: Barr Chibuzor August, legal expert; Barr Edirin Essiet, founder of TLC; and Rev. Dr. Mike Osunbor, Director/Agency Manager at Aiico Insurance PLC and Director at Rank Bank.Org.

The expanded jury also includes leading professionals such as Oba Hussein of Federal Auchi Polytechnic (Audit Department); Denis Okosun, Contributing Editor/Partner at Nationalwire News online; and Kenneth Obi, retired Senior Marketing Executive at Total Nigeria and founder of Obim’s Event Place. Joining them is Oge Obasi, a film producer behind acclaimed works like Mami Wata and The Figurine, and Sam Obafemi, founder of Cerca Africa and author of ‘Fans Don’t Pay’ and ‘Based on Logistics’.
Further members include Obanor Uyi from Perfetti Van Melle Nigeria Limited (Accounts Dept.); Agbona William from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (Accounts Dept.); Pharm Julian Michael, Lead Pharmacist at Med Connect Pharmacy; Deborah Aigue, an economics and finance expert from Bradford University; Ololade Adenekan, COO of LP Jets and founder of Miss Aviation Nigeria; and Ediale Kingsley, founder of Sabistation, Voters Of Naija, Naija Referrals, and Reviews Of Naija.

In an innovative move, the voters will also play a crucial role in determining the winners, allowing the public to contribute to the selection process and ensuring a broad representation of voices.
