Yobe earmarks N1.3 billion for projects, compensations for military barracks

The Yobe State Executive Council (SEC) has; yesterday earmarked N1.3 billion for the execution and completion of capital projects and compensations on acquired land for the building a military barracks in Damaturu, the state capital.

At the SEC meeting, the council also approved N556.3 million for the rehabilitation of solar streets lights along the main and rings roads of Damaturu metropolis.

The Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa disclosed this Tuesday, while briefing journalists on the outcome of SEC meeting at the Government House, Damaturu.

He said that the council has approved the accessing of N3.4 billion stabilization fund from the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) through a consulting firm execute the capital projects and land compensation payments.

His words: “The state executive council (SEC) has approved the procurement of 24 vehicles to members of the Yobe State House of
Assembly at the total cost of N275 million. The deliveries; of the Peugeot, Camry and Honda Accord vehicles; are to be made by Milestone Ventures firm.”

He said that for the furnishing of doctors’ and nurses’ quarters at the 200-bed Ultra-Modern Hospital, Damaturu, it has been awarded to Green and Blue Limited at the cost of N76.9 million.
