Zenith Bank Plc has launched the Visa Signature Card in partnership with Visa, marking a shift in Nigeria’s premium banking segment towards access-driven financial services tailored to globally mobile and high-income customers.
Speaking at the launch ceremony held on Monday at the bank’s head office, the Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank, Dr Adaora Umeoji, said the launch reflects the bank’s commitment to innovation and delivering value to customers through technology-driven solutions.
She said: “Today, we are very proud and happy to unveil one of our premium offerings in line with our continuous innovation around our customers’ evolving needs.”
Umeoji noted that the product was developed in collaboration with Visa to enable seamless, secure global transactions while offering travel benefits and protection for users.
“We have strategically partnered with Visa for the launch of this product, which is designed to provide seamless and secure global and international payments, offer world-class travel privileges, deliver personalised services, and protect against online shopping fraud and social engineering risks,” she said.
Umeoji added that Zenith Bank is the first in Nigeria to introduce the Visa Signature Card, describing it as a demonstration of the bank’s focus on delivering superior customer experience.
“We are the first bank in Nigeria to launch this Visa Signature Card, which is a testament to our commitment to excellence and delivering superior service to all our customers,” she said.
She reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to innovation and long-term value creation.
“We remain committed to driving innovation and creating long-lasting solutions for all stakeholders and will continue to provide good value to our customers and shareholders,” she said.
Also speaking, Vice President and Head of West Africa Cluster at Visa, Andrew Uaboi, said the collaboration signals a transition from traditional banking products to services built around customer access and convenience.
“Visa is partnering with Zenith Bank to reshape its premium banking proposition. This marks a shift from traditional banking products to access data-driven services for cardholders,” he said.
Uaboi explained that the card is designed to meet the growing needs of customers who increasingly operate across borders, noting that it offers access to digital global premium programmes, travel programmes, concierge services, hospitality packages and a wide range of exclusive benefits for users.
Assistant General Manager and Head of Card Services at Zenith Bank, Celestina Appeal, described the card as a tool designed to enhance everyday experiences for customers.
She said it goes beyond payments to offer lifestyle benefits that align with the aspirations of modern users.
