Battle over filthy canal rages

          o Government warns residents to desist from dumping refuse and human waste in canals

 COVERED with a mass of mud, the water in the canal keeps circulating round a particular spot. It emits stench, which fills the air in some parts of Bariga and Akoka, including the surrounding area of the University of Lagos Second Gate. Not many people could pass the canal without covering their noses or stop their breath for a while to prevent them from perceiving the offensive odour.
