Ekaette not disturbing my official duties, says Orubebe
Faults calls for minister's removal
From Kelechi Okoronkwo, Abuja
THE Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, has condemned calls for removal of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Uffot Ekaette, describing the agitation as a handiwork of detractors.
Orubebe, in a statement at the weekend in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media, Ekenwa Akwagbe, said the allegation by "Warri-Ijaw Peace Monitoring Group (WIPMG), signed by its Chairman, one Patrick Bigha, that Ekaette is high-handed and has denied the Minister of State in the Ministry, Godsday Orubebe, the opportunity to carry out his duty" was a figment of the writer's imagination.
