Why I'm not surprised at renewed hostilities in N'Delta, by Mitee

THE Chairman of the Technical Committee on Niger Delta, which drafted recommendations for peace and development in the region, Mr. Ledum Mitee, has said that the reported fresh attacks by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) were expected.

The leader of the 45-man committee, who spoke with The Guardian yesterday, said he was still proud of the report of the committee, believing that the recommendations could provide the much sought peace in the region.
