Ekiti federal university announces October 12 resumption for returning students

The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, has scheduled October 12, 2026, for the resumption of returning students for the 2026/2027 academic session, while newly admitted students are expected to resume on November 2.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, announced the dates while addressing a conference at the institution, according to a statement made available in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday.

Aribisala said the university completed its maiden academic session for 2025/2026 in October and was preparing to commence the new session with a commitment to maintaining a stable academic calendar.

“I am happy to inform you that the university completed the first academic session (2025/2026) this month, while the 2026/2027 academic session will begin on October 12, 2026,” he said.

He confirmed that returning students would resume on Monday, October 12, while fresh students would begin their academic activities on Monday, November 2.

The vice-chancellor said the institution intended to maintain a predictable academic schedule to enable students to complete their programmes without unnecessary interruptions or delays.

“The university will continue to maintain a stable academic calendar, ensuring that academic activities, examinations, results processing and other academic processes are properly coordinated to support the timely completion of students’ programmes,” he said.

Aribisala added that the university management was focused on building on the achievements of its inaugural academic session, improving teaching and learning, and creating an environment conducive to research.

The resumption dates mark the beginning of the university’s second academic session following the completion of its maiden 2025/2026 session.
