Ronik Polytechnic, Ejigbo, Lagos, is intensifying efforts to foster a culture of innovation and strengthen partnerships with industry stakeholders to ensure its academic programmes remain relevant and impactful in the rapidly changing global workforce.
The acting Rector, Dr Abiodun Olafenwa, who disclosed this at the institution’s matriculation ceremony, said the school is poised to equip students not only with theoretical knowledge, but also with practical skills that will prepare them to become job creators of tomorrow.
Olafenwa stressed that globally, higher education institutions are no longer defined solely by classroom teaching, but are increasingly becoming innovation ecosystems where knowledge meets industry, research drives economic solutions, and graduates are equipped not only to seek jobs, but to create them.
The visitor to the polytechnic, Chris Alabi, represented by Adeola Olubanjo, the Vice Chairman of the Governing Council, enjoined the students to be serious with their studies so as to become among the best in the country after their graduation.
“You have to value your time, go beyond the classroom, have integrity and avoid distractions for you to achieve academic excellence,” he said.
He also appealed to the matriculating students to embrace wisdom in all they do, reminding them that wisdom is crucial for success in life endeavours.
