Taraba varsity graduates 26 first-class students

Twnety-six graduating students of Kwararafa University in Wukari local government council of Taraba State have been awarded first-class honour by the authorities of the institution.

Apart from the students, honorary awards were presented to notable individuals, including Attah Igala, Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa 11), former director of finance of the National Assembly, David Sabo Kente and former Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Andrew Yakubu.

Acknowledging their contributions to society, the leadership of the institution, led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Shishi Zhema reminded them of the responsibilities such honours.

Speaking at the second combined convocation of the university during the weekend, Zhema, acknowledged the delays in the issuance of certificates to previous graduates and outlined a commitment to ensure that future convocations are held annually.

The Vice Chancellor who apologised for any setbacks experienced by graduates in receiving their certificates, reaffirmed the university’s dedication to streamlining processes and enhancing the student experience.

He said campus infrastructure has been expanded, and new postgraduate programmes have been launched with NUC verification to broaden the university’s academic offerings.

Stressing that staff welfare, academic innovation, and responsive policies remain the university’s priorities, he applauded the Taraba State governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the university’s Board of Trustees, the Governing Council, and many other stakeholders, Kente and Laar, for their unwavering support.
