Nigeria in the past decades has become a breeding ground for young and successful entrepreneurs, a trend which has given rise to a preponderance of business-minded young people in almost every field of endeavour, including fintech, creative industry and general business.

Isah Mukailu, a general contractor and director of Yamin Hala Investment is one of the faces of this new generation of entrepreneurs making waves in the country today.

Popularly known as Misab, the emerging business man is multifaceted and has made his mark in real estate, general contract and the music industry.

While speaking recently at an entrepreneurship forum in Lokoja put together by TMY News, Misab, while addressing aspiring entrepreneurs, avowed that Nigeria is a learning ground for entrepreneurship.

“I have heard many Nigerians complain that the country’s business environment is harsh, but it provides a good learning curve for young business people,” he said.

Continuing, the Yamin Halal Investment director drew examples from his own experience.

“First, you must have passion. I didn’t just wake up and jump into business. Aside from being born by parents that are full time business people, I have had a life-long aspiration to become an entrepreneur, ” Misab said.

According to him, passion was one of his staying power when the going got tough.

“I learnt some vital lessons from such difficult circumstances and with patience and good decision making, I was able to stabilise my business, “he stated.

Now a dominant figure in the Abuja-Lokoja business community, Misab encouraged young people to build their capacity as entrepreneurs.

Offering some nuggets of advice, he said: “Put God first, be truthful in all your dealing because that is how you build integrity. Similarly, never rest till you achieve something. That’s to say, you must be hungry for success.”

He also underscored the importance of being unique.

“That is the only way you can be ahead of others. Don’t also underestimate the power of relationships in business, “Misab counselled.
