Firm targets power gap with energy payment platform

An energy technology company, WiSolar, has introduced Single Energy Wallet, a platform that combines solar power, battery storage and grid electricity into a single managed service aimed at simplifying electricity access and payment.

The company said the system is designed to remove manual switching between power sources, eliminate multiple electricity bills and reduce unpredictable charges. Electricity is delivered through one digital wallet that covers all energy consumption, with usage measured per kilowatt-hour and charges deducted in real time based on the energy source used.

According to WiSolar, the model eliminates estimated billing and unexpected end-of-month costs, long regarded as major concerns for households and businesses. The platform integrates solar generation, battery storage and grid electricity into one intelligent system, with solar prioritised as the primary energy source. When solar output declines due to nighttime, weather conditions or maintenance, grid electricity automatically takes over, switching back once solar power becomes available without user involvement.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tonye Irims, said the platform was designed to ensure a continuous power supply while removing the need for customers to manage technical transitions. Homes and businesses connected to the system do not control switching between energy sources, as supply is balanced automatically to maintain uptime.

“Pricing under the Single Energy Wallet is linked directly to the energy source consumed. Solar power is billed at a lower rate, while grid electricity attracts a higher charge,” he said.

WiSolar noted that by prioritising solar energy whenever it is available, customers default to lower-carbon power while managing costs without having to make active decisions.

“At the centre of the platform is a single wallet for all electricity use. There are no subscriptions attached, no estimated bills issued, and customers are charged only for energy consumed, with billing carried out instantly,” Irims added.

He described the system as a shift towards treating electricity as a digital service rather than a fragmented utility, noting that customers access the wallet through the WiSolar mobile application, which provides real-time balance updates, consumption tracking, top-up options and system performance monitoring.
