The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) commitment to making public its activities using its social media platforms has been rewarded with the award on Outstanding Public Sector Website in Nigeria by Phillips Consulting.
The award ceremony tagged ‘’Web Jurist Awards’’ took place recently in Abuja.
Receiving the Web Jurist award, Commission’s Chairman, Dr Sam Amadi, represented by the Head, Information Technology (IT) Unit of the NERC, Abdullahi Adamu lauded Philips Consulting for its speciality in information security assurances, IT management and training as well as in e-business development.
The award process followed a detailed evaluation of public sector websites broken into five categories, namely Aesthetics, Technical Aspects, Website Content, User Experience and Performance.
It was based on this premise that NERC won the ‘Web Performance’ category that evaluated the overall performance of the site; measuring such critical metrics as the extent to which the website has been optimized; taking cognisance of the speed at display and availability, and also on popularity.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the award by Jason Ikegwu of Phililips Consulting to Adamu, on behalf of Dr Sam Amadi.
Philips Consulting is a leading consulting firm serving clients across Africa through offices in Lagos, Abuja and Johannesburg, South Africa.
