Adegbenro ICT Polytecnic matriculates 2000 students

The D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori-Ewekoro, Ogun State recently matriculated 2000 students, with a call on them to shun social vices.

The D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori-Ewekoro, Ogun State recently matriculated 2000 students, with a call on them to shun social vices.

The occasion witnessed the first combined matriculation for both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
According to the rector, Prof. Alfred Fatade the institution has obtained accreditation for more HND programmes at the institution.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ogun State, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, who was the Special Guest of Honour, congratulated the new intakes as they kick-started the process of acquiring tertiary education, enjoining them to shun vices.

“By virtue of this occasion, you are officially a registered member of this academic community and entitled to all lawful rights and privileges of a stakeholder. However, you must not indulge in unproductive enterprises, such as examination malpractice, indecent dressing, cultism and other social vices. I want you to be law abiding and never lose focus on your primary purpose here”, she advised.

The rector assured the students of total support from the management and staff members of the institution as he advised them to relate with the indigenes of the host communities in a civil manner.

He said, “ You are being launched into a platform that would afford you the opportunity of quality academic and social interactions that will greatly shape your future.

Be assured that the management and staff of this institution are ever willing and ready to assist you to fully integrate yourselves into the polytechnic’s well-cultured environment. I also implore you to be at best behaviours among the host communities that will serve as your home for the next few months.”

He said the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved the institution for Flexible Skill Development/Tertiary E-Learning Resources (FSD/TIER) programmes as well as the accreditation and recognition of certificates obtained by f accountancy students by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), which will exempt them from some professional examinations conducted by ICAN.
