THE District Superintendent, Apostolic Faith Church, West Africa, Rev. Bayo Adeniran, has called on the Church to preach the true gospel to save the world from adulterated messages and heresies.

Adeniran made this statement at the Church’s 2015 Leadership Training programme, which was attended by participants from 12 countries including Togo, Republic of Benin, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Congo and Kenya.

He said the training was meant to equip leaders and workers of the church for the field.

“An untrained worker is an accident in waiting and this is the reason we give a lot of premium to training in Apostolic Faith. We are committed to teaching workers, who are expected to go and replicate the same doctrine to others. This is buttressed by the fact that the Church has the same printing press, the same training centre in all our branches across the globe,” he said.

In his remarks, the Director for Africa Work, Apostolic Faith Church, Portland, Oregon, Rev. Dwight Bartzel, who was on a visit to Nigeria with the wife, Susan, described the training as a very special one, adding that it was important to have it right.

“Spiritual leadership is critical and there is every tendency to get carried away and veer into error. It is better not to have a leader than to have the wrong one that would be feeding the people with heresies.

“The gospel of Jesus Christ centres on ‘Come and See.’ As leaders from different countries in West Africa have come to Nigeria to see how things should be done, they will return to their countries to replicate what they have heard and seen to others,” he said.
