I am not a Yoruba man first off, but I love to read their history because of its richness and ambiguities. The complexities in Yoruba history is better left alone than to be distorted. The Olugbo appeared very knowledgeable about his heritage and ready to argue it to the end. I am afraid of what else is in the coffin if he is allowed to open up some more. The Ooni as a revered King should carefully dodge this confrontation because it appeared that empirical facts are not in his favor. It is obvious that the issue here is the problem with discovery of a place where there is inherent aborigines. For instance Mongo Park discovered Nigeria, But he met some people there on arrival, and Just like Christopher Columbus discovered USA while the Indians were already on ground. I am not trying to insinuate anything but let there be a symposium on this matter who knows, The Aros from Ibo south east Nigeria may be the original owner of Ile-Ife.
