THE President of Mothers’ Union, Women’s’ Guild and Girls’ Guild, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Mrs. Nkasiobi Okoh has advised women to depend on God, as well as raise Godly children.

Mrs. Okoh gave the advice, when she led a delegation of the organisation to felicitate with the Vice President’s mother, Mrs. Olubisi Osinbajo at her Lagos residence.

The President said parents have a lot to do in raising Godly children, especially now that things are hard. She enjoined them to seek God’s assistance in discharging their duties.

“I would like all women to return to God, our Creator, Who gave us these children. He is fully aware of the current trying times and by relying on His power, we can overcome every challenge. He has given us His Word in Jesus Christ and as we hold unto Him, Who is always by our side, nothing would be impossible for us,” she said.

On the organisation’s mission to Mrs. Osinbajo, Mrs. Okoh, who is the wife of Primate of the Anglican Church, said: “The organisation’s representatives decided to visit Mrs. Osinbajo and wish her well on the occasion of her 83rd birthday.”

The Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos Mainland, Most Revd. Adebayo Akinde, described Mrs. Osinbajo as a favoured and blessed woman, a child of God, as her exemplary life had occasioned the visit.

“We are fulfilling the Biblical injunction to rejoice with those rejoicing by identifying with one of us. We have prayed with her and committed her into God’s hands, believing that He would do greater things in her life in Jesus name. I pray that God would add more years to her life and as she advances in age, our able God would renew her strength and would continue to fellowship and worship the God she loves so much,” he said.

In her response, Mrs. Osinbajo said she was fulfilled, pleased and happy. She advised all women to take care of their children and never to sleep with their two eyes closed.

“Focus attention on the boys because of the times we are in. Pray for them, love them, make them happy and teach them in the way of the Lord, if you want to rest as I am resting now. If you refuse to do all this, you will not rest,” she said.

She advised all women to continue to pray for the nation.
