EXECUTIVE Secretary of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Alimosho, Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, has said that the inauguration of Caretaker Committees in Lagos State councils would enable development to reach the grassroots and not an attempt to use them for political mobilization for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The LCDA boss said it is nothing farther from the truth and propaganda by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to blackmail the APC. The Guardian recalls that the PDP has criticized the constitution of the council committees, saying it was hurriedly set up and unnecessary.

Addressing newsmen in his office yesterday, the LG boss said “the claim by the PDP is mere propaganda to curry public sympathy. Are they suggesting there should be vacuum?

“The PDP has lost touch with reality and their years, which is about ending at the centre can best be described as the locust years in our political journey. The Nigeria Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is to blame for the delay in the council polls because the commission is yet to release the appropriate voters register to the state and this is really delaying the plan.”
