Cleric Lauds Retired DIG At Thanksgiving

ONIFLOWER branch of the Deeper Life Bible Church, recently held a thanksgiving service in honour of the retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), David Olufemi Omojola, who retired from the Nigeria Police Force as the DIG in charge of Information and Communication Technology (G department), having attained the statutory 60 years age bar.

Eulogising the retired senior police officer, the branch Pastor, Charles Babalola, described him as a child of God, who spent his resources and time in the works of God. Said he: “his immense contributions to the church development in Ikorodu is worthy of mention.”

Responding, the retired DIG said he had only three years to retire, when he was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police.

“My hope of promotion became even more bleak with the stagnation of many police officers in one rank for several years by successive administration. I thought I was going to end my career in the Force as a Commissioner of Police. It is only by providence that I got two promotions within three years. What men refused to do, God did it for me.”

He advised Nigerians, especially security agents, to shun cultism and satanic ways of life.

On the insecurity situation in the country, Omojola praised the current Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase as a man of great ideas, noting that with the Federal Government onslaught against insurgents, Nigerians and foreigners would soon heave a sigh of relief.

“This administration led by Muhammadu Buhari is poised to end the activities of Boko Haram. Also, I believe that the president will fund the police better this time around, especially now that the Force is lucky to have a man full of ideas at the saddle.

“Arase, as the IGP, has over the years demonstrated that he has what it takes to reform the Force. This short period that he has been in charge, certain measures he has taken are not only revolutionary but unique.
