BORNFREE City International (BCL), Igando, Lagos, recently, organised a service, where prayers were said for Nigeria, its leaders and the people.

The platform was also used to launch a book, titled ‘Let’s Pray For Nigeria,’ which x-rays the various ills facing the country, the diverse ways the different administrations have tried to solve them and the reasons prayer is key in nation-building and how people are to intercede for the leaders and the nation.

According to the author, Philip Osung, who is the Senior Pastor of the church, and the host of ‘Hour of Smile,’ “the book is meant to bring the nation to its prophetic destiny and stop the handiwork of the devil in the country; to liberate the country from the claws and grasp of the enemies of progress and for its people to be totally emancipated from the devil,” he said.

Lamenting the spate of crime across the country, the cleric noted that before now, such issues as terrorism, bomb explosion, Internally Displace Persons (IDPs), wars, refugees and hunger used to be alien to us. But today, they have become a daily occurrence.

“Suffice it to say that Nigeria is under siege. The nation needs urgent prayers. The rate of preventable deaths in the country for the past two years is very alarming. Presently, the nation is in a confused state and no one seems to know the way out of the quagmire. But we strongly believe if we can create time to pray and intercede for Nigeria, God will answer and change the situation for better. We must pray for peace in the country, for those in authority, against the enemies of this nation, for prosperity, for the mighty hands of God to rest on the nation and for Nigeria to have its place in the comity of nations.

“We must understand that if there is no peace in the country, there will be no progress. Therefore, prayer is inevitable, if we must move forward and have relative peace and progress. What kind of a nation are we bequeathing to our children and the generations unborn, if we do not have peace?” he queried.
