As part of efforts aimed at complementing activities of government at all levels in delivering improved healthcare service to the people, Superior Pharmaceuticals Limited, has revved up its corporate social responsibility initiative to aid individuals, healthcare institutions and communities in the country.

The Vice President, Superior Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mrs. Ruth Harrison, disclosed this recently in a chat with newsmen at the company’s headquarters in Lagos.

Harrison who observed that benefitting from communities without giving back is like broad day robbery said the company is willing to continually add value to the lives of the people in the country.
To this end, she said the company has embarked on initiatives that are aimed at touching lives of people in communities in the nation.

According to her, the company in conjunction with a general hospital in Lagos is set to launch an enlightenment campaign on prostate enlargement in the state.

She stated that the decision to campaign on the disease was informed by upsurge in prevalence of prostate cancer in the nation and the increase in the number of young men between the age of 40 and above that are victims of the disease.

She noted that they hoped to build on the success of a malaria campaign held in partnership with a non-governmental organisation in Itedo Lekki last year where free anti-malaria drugs were provided to the community.

Harrison who stated that they recently donated a defibrillator to the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, and renovated the Pharmacy Department of Island maternity Hospital, Lagos said they would soon present a power generating set to a primary health centre in Surulere Lagos to boost their power supply.

Harrison said this is coming on the heel of an eighteen setter bus the company donated in January to the pharmacy department of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife, Osun State to facilitate ease of movement for these professionals.

Noting that Superior Pharmaceuticals is ready to touch lives of Nigerians especially those living in rural communities and assist health institutions, she revealed the company has mandated its medical representatives to get information about communities and health centres in need of assistance.
