Drive national growth through innovation, industrialist charges Nigerian youth

Industrialist and Founder of the Doyin Group of Companies, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, has called on Nigerian youths to embrace innovation and resilience as the primary tools for nation-building.

Speaking at the fourth convocation ceremony of Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos, at the weekend, where he serves as Chancellor, Adedoyin emphasised that despite current challenges, a brighter future awaits those ready to solve problems.

Adedoyin urged the graduating class to look beyond their academic achievements and view themselves as the architects of Nigeria’s future.

“Our society needs problem-solvers. Use your skills to tackle challenges, spark innovation, and create impact. Lead with the heart and serve with humility,” he said.

Advising the government, he reiterated the necessity of consistent investment in young people, labeling them the “change-makers of tomorrow.”

The ceremony featured powerful charges from the university’s governing body, all echoing a theme of integrity and purpose.

Chairman, Board of Trustees, Trinity University, Deacon Adebowale Tade, reminded the graduates that their purpose is bigger than a degree, urging them to let integrity be their compass.

Pro-Chancellor, Pastor Samuel Olatunji, advised graduates to treat knowledge as a trust and to be “agents of positive change” in their respective spheres.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Clement Kolawole, challenged the alumni to stay focused on their ambitions and refuse to be defeated by obstacles.

At the event, 200 students from the Faculties of Arts, Social and Management Sciences (101), Basic and Applied Medical Sciences (64) and Nursing Sciences (35) received their degrees. Of these figures, 51 students made First Class degrees, 61 obtained Second Class Upper Division, 55 obtained Second Lower Division, while four had Third Class.

In addition, 12 students of the university’s Centre for Addiction Science and Behavioural Psychology also received their diplomas at the convocation ceremony.

The duo of Emmanuel Oluwadarasimi Tanimowo of Computer Science and Ifeoluwa Oluwatofunmi Adeyeye of Mass communication departments, emerged the best graduating students with CGPA of 5.00.
