FG to equip youths with digital skills

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, has announced plans by the Federal Government to equip youths with essential digital skills.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, has announced plans by the Federal Government to equip youths with essential digital skills.

Tijani disclosed this during his visit to Teesas Education Learning Centre, one of the Applied Learning Clusters (ALC) of the 3Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme of the federal government aimed at grooming technical talents.

The minister noted that by investing in people and digital skills, government is setting the foundation for a sustainable, tech-driven future.
As part of the 3MTT programme, Teesas trains youths in various fields, including product management, design, software development, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), cloud computing, game development, data analysis and visualisation, animation, and quality assurance.

The founder of Teesas Education, Mr Osayi Izedonmwen,reassured of the firm’s readiness to partner the government in actualising the 3MTT agenda of building Nigeria’s technical talent to power the digital economy and position it as a net talent exporter.

Izedonmwen said: “This is our second cohort, and we are training about 1000 participants. We look forward to continuing the collaboration with the government until it achieves its target.”

The minister, thereafter, engaged the participants, hearing first-hand about their experiences, and the programme’s impact on their career prospects.
