THE General Overseer of World New Revival Ministries International (aka Christ Grace Assembly), Pastor Margaret Oluyemisi Durojaiye, has admonished Nigerians to live a clean and healthy life, describing it as the simplest way to get closer to God.

She stated this during a sanitation exercise by the church, as part of activities marking the Year of Spiritual Breakthrough, which ended, last Sunday.

The General Overseer, who stressed that the event has been ongoing for close to two decades, said: “We do this every year to teach other churches, societies, firms, communities and even the country the essence of cleanliness. Our God is a clean God, and we should, at all times, emulate His ways and also uphold the call from government on the need to maintain a clean and healthy environment, one that is habitable.”

She added: “The way of life of a child of God should be different from that of others. That is why the church besides the long tradition of the sanitation exercise, calls on doctors and other health practitioners to check the health status of our parishioners and residents of our communities.”

She also explained that the two-year-old Margaret Oluyemisi Durojaiye (MOD) Foundation is a platform created to promote healthy living and togetherness. Every year, the foundation donates food items to the diseased and physically challenged. On October 1, 2015, as part of the Independence Day celebrations, the foundation gave over 100 bags of rice and other food items, including noodles, pasta, tomato puree and sauce to widows, orphans and the needy in Ejigbo community and its environ.

According to Pastor, Osi Nwagbo, the environmental exercise, which had members cleaning up roads leading to the Pipeline area of Ejigbo and its axis, “is our modest and sincere contribution to the efforts of government, which has, to a great extent, encouraged and upheld the need for a clean and healthy environment.”
