FIIRO DG, Mrs. Elemo, Reappointed For Another Tenure

THE Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO) Dr. Mrs. Gloria Elemo has been reappointed for another four-year tenure.

THE Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO) Dr. Mrs. Gloria Elemo has been reappointed for another four-year tenure.

In a release by the Institute at the weekend, the new term for which President Jonathan gave approval March 25 takes effect from Monday, 11th May 2015.

The release said the announcement was on behalf of the Minister of Science and Technology, the Governing Board and management of the Institute.

A 1984 University of Ibadan doctorate degree holder in Nutritional Biochemistry, Mrs. Elemo has been a clinical Biochemist at the Bauchi State Hospital, where she had her NYSC and lectured at the Lagos State University, Ojo, where she rose to senior lectureship position in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences in 1991.

In 1993, Dr Elemo joined the Raw Material Research and Development Council in Abuja as Assistant Scientific Officer, where she rose through the ranks to become a deputy director.

In 2007, and in display of competence and professionalism in over 27 years of post doctorate working experience, Dr. Elemo was appointed Director, Food and Analytical Services Department of FIIRO.

It was from this position that she was appointed as the Director General and Chief Executive of FIIRO in May 2011 followed by the subsequent reappointment by the President.
