Firm unveils herbal drug for cough, cold
TAH Pharmaceutical limited, a subsidiary of Tata group, has unveiled an Over-The-Counter (OTC) herbal drugs to cure cough and cold, a common ailment among Nigerians. The drug named Zecuf Herbal Cough Lozenges and Syrup was released to the public last week at a customer interactive forum of the firm with clients and partners, which included doctors, pharmacists, and retailers in Lagos.
Director of TAH Pharmaceuticals, Prof. E.O. Ogunlana, said the product, which would soon be released to the market, is targeted at addressing one of the prevalent ailments in our tropic environment.
“We had to focus our attention on developing products to address this common ailment that affects all of us at an affordable price. Over 40 percent of cough and cold remedies are herbal and that is what this product is offering in different flavours like strawberry, orange, and herbal. Very soon, we would launch the pineapple, lemon and sugar-free flavor for diabetic patients,” he said.
The Head of Healthcare division, Pharm. Olusegun Omolambe, said the firm which started operations in the country 18 months ago, is committed to distributing quality healthcare products that will address the needs of Nigerians at an affordable cost.
