Glorious Choir Marks 10th Anniversary, Yearly Concert

bible-&-koranMEMBERS of the Glorious inter-denominational choir, recently gathered at the Yaba College of Technology Alumni Hall to mark the 10th anniversary of the choir and its fourth yearly concert, themed: “Triumphed Gloriously.”

Dressed in matching blue choir gowns and caps, they all sang to the glory of God. Delivering his opening address, Engr. Tom Edet Okon, said, “the celebration signifies a major milestone in the life of the choir. Glorious choir has become a living proof of God’s faithfulness and we are celebrating wonderful memories of the best times, talents, resources and attention to various laudable programmes, which they have wholeheartedly presented to God.”

He noted that the theme of the concert aptly describes the choir’s walk with God through singing alongside the elevating successes recorded.

“As our choir has continued to focus on its 3, 000 singing voices, from 26 choristers drawn from few churches in 2005, it has steadily grown to 56 choristers from 17 churches, which may seem a far cry from its vision. But our faith is in the Holy Spirit, Who is in the business of lifting the choir and increasing it numerically.”

President of the Choir, Mr. Offiong Samuel Ukpong said that the significance of the choir for members, having dedicated themselves to singing to God, is to utilise the opportunity to explore their relationship with God.
