Grange School organises valedictory service for Class of 2015 pupils

THE Class of 2015 pupils of Grange School recently held its valedictory service with so much excitement and adulation.

The atmosphere was filled with happy parents, who were glad to witness this colorful event in the lives of their children. The class comprised 60 in number with 31 boys and 29 girls.

The Principal/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Graham J Stothard, in his address, said the pupils would be attending schools of their first choice in countries overseas in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and elsewhere.

He said pupils would follow the paths of thousands of other Grange alumni, stretching back almost 57 years.

The principal, who wished all graduating pupils successes in their future endeavour, expressed the hope that they would keep in touch with Grange news and activities through the website.

He expressed his appreciation to the staff and pupils’ parents, who helped to bring the children to where they were on the graduation day.

The occasion was graced by Mr. Gbenga Oyebode , who was the guest speaker and an alumnus of Grange School.

Oyebode admonished the students to aspire to greater heights and encouraged them to always look back at their school and seek out ways to improve the school.

Oluwawunmi Oluokun emerged as the Dux Scholar (Best pupil over-all in academics), having achieved the best results in English Language, French, history and physics.

The duo of Sijuwade Modadeoluwa and Nwanma Terri won the best pupil in three subjects. Sijuwade was best pupil in additional mathematics, Cambridge international mathematics and general mathematics. Nwanma Terri was best pupil in chemistry, economics and Information and communication technology.

Aliyah Busari, the out-going deputy head girl, was the best pupil in two subjects- business studies and English Literature. She was Best Performing Female Artist; outstanding service to Grange School project; COBIS student achievement award and the Valedictorian for the class of 2015.

The Principal’s Award For Outstanding Leadership was achieved by Zainab Abiola-Odunowo, the out-going head girl. She also achieved the COBIS Student Achievement Award and Outstanding Service to Grange School Award.

The graduating head boy, Ifeoluwa Adefope bagged the COBIS Student Achievement Award and the Best Male Performing Artist for his role in the musical “Hope for a better world,” an adaptation of Evita.
