GOD Owned Business Forum (GBF), a nonprofit organisation and an association of companies and businesses managed by God-fearing individuals, was formally inaugurated in Lagos last week.

Justifying the establishment of the forum, which is being promoted by Prof. Chris Onalo, the founding Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Credit Administration (ICA), he said it became necessary to build a crop of businessmen and women, who will lead the pace in championing the noble ideals and ideas of integrity, transparency, and honesty in business transactions.

According to the promoters, the GBF is expected to serve as the official business networking association for all companies owned and managed by Christians, whose lifestyles reflect the words and the way of God. They further noted that the business success and strength of such persons and organisations would be derived from the practice of faith in Bible.

Citing Isaiah 48: 17, Onalo said the essence of the GBF is for businessmen and women to allow God to rule their lives. “The GBF serves as a clearing house for all our members in good standing on matters relating to access to credit or loanable funds for business financing, but without being a surety.

“It also seeks to play advocacy role by opposing or supporting economic, business, social and political matters, policies or legislators that affect business and the interest of our members. We teach, share and show the employees of our member companies how to apply biblical principles relating to their jobs, workplace character, and the business of their companies to attain higher ground.

“We seek to promote, motivate and grow our members’ businesses and foster business relationships through constant networking events, programmes and multimedia communications,” he added.

Onalo while assuring that the membership of the Forum is open to Christians and non-Christians who are men and women of faith, hinted of plans to rollout a calendar of events lined up for the Forum in the coming weeks.
