HOS lauds civil servants over contribution to state development

The Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, has lauded Lagos State’s public servants for their contributions to the state, stating that the long service award is to motivate public servants to be more committed in delivering effective service to the citizens and the state.

Agoro spoke during the Long Service Merit Award in Lagos.

During his keynote address, he stated that the award is geared towards recognising and rewarding hard work and commitment.

“The objective of this yearly Long Service Merit Award Initiative is geared towards consciously and deliberately recognising and rewarding diligence, commitment and loyalty amongst Public Servants in Lagos State with the belief that the periodic exercise will encourage Awardees to do more, and at the same time serve as motivation to other Public Servants to be more committed in delivering effective service to the State,” Agoro said.

He further congratulated them and urged them not to relax, but to continue to exhibit the very traits for which they were recognised.

“In congratulating and felicitating with the proud recipients of today’s Awards, let me reiterate that the State Government appreciates your contributions over the last 30years, or more, to the growth and development of Lagos State. Still, I urge you not to rest on your oars but rather, to continue to exhibit the high sense of responsibility, commitment to duty and unalloyed loyalty which are the qualities and values for which you are being recognised and honoured today,” he said.

There were 750 civil servants nominated in this year’s award ceremony for recognition. One of the recipients Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, expressed his excitement for successfully reaching the climax of his public service career.
