Since its commencement in 2016, the annual GTBank Food and drink fair has become the biggest culinary festival in the country, promoting, supporting and growing local foodpreneurs and shining spotlight on chefs, recipes and all things food.

This year’s edition was no different as over 300 small business operators and local chefs enjoyed free exhibition and cooking spaces to the delight and excitement of the thousands of attendees and visitors that stormed the venue. After four days of sun and fun, double the number of vendors from previous seasons, 15 explosive master classes, a packed food village and excited guests, the fair came to an exciting end.

It was a great opportunity for shoppers to shop from varieties of foods and beverages as the festival, which held at the GT Centre in Lagos and ended on Worker’s Day, provided attendees the opportunity to have a pleasant time with mouth-watering cuisines, both local and from all over the world.

The four-day event was well attended by shoppers, visitors and food connoisseurs who feasted on cuisines from the finest chefs possible, whilst others shopped ingredients for personal use. Children were also not left out in the fun, as there was a kid’s arena for children to play and enjoy themselves. The event also afforded everyone the platform to attend free master classes by renowned local and international players in the food and drink industry.

Participants learnt how to make world-class burgers, sushi, how to build and maintain world-class restaurants, the art of chocolate tasting, the secret to blending seasoning to perfection and making the ultimate sandwich. Other areas touched on include, reinventing traditional recipes, afro recipe fusion for a new culinary experience, cakes, creating evergreen content for food, food styling for photography, how to make Latin American foods among others.

The financial institution, which said earlier that it intends to keep focusing and growing SMEs in the areas of food and fashion, certainly delivered on its promise as exhibitors and attendees alike are already eagerly anticipating next year’s edition which promises to be bigger and better.
