SS Dental Clinic Lagos has urged Nigerians to visit their dentists at least twice in a year and brush their teeth twice a day to avoid oral diseases.

Speaking, at the My Business Nigeria (MBN), Exhibition, in Victoria Island, Lagos, SS Dental Clinic Boss, Dr. Iyabo Shadari, stated that SS Dental Clinic is laying emphasis on public dental care and also educating Nigerian public about dental care through qualified and experienced personnel.

Shadari disclosed that SS Dental Clinic partnered with MBN, because she experienced Nigerians, especially the youths, were not utilising the opportunity that abounds in oral health education.

She said: “Even your smile can win you a contract so, it is very important to visit dentist and brush your teeth accordingly in order to have maximum oral healthcare.”

Continuing, she said: “Nigerians do not value National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). Many companies pay for their employees to have NHIS, still many people do not pay attention to benefit from NHIS programme, which is very important and we advise Nigerians to put more efforts to ensure they benefited from NHIS, by going for their dental check up.

“We also have screening in our clinic and once you have your NHIS, the screening is free of charge. We are here to create awareness on the importance of dental care some times we extend our screening to offices as well,” she said.

Admin Officer, SS Dental Clinic, Chioma Mbagu, said they participated in programme in order to create awareness for Nigerians to visit their dentists every six months to avoid preventable health issues.

She said: “Nigerians need to visit their dentists to have proper check up. Every thing that would enter your body must past through your mouth so, if you do not have good oral healthcare you endangering your system.

Mbagu informed that SS Dental Clinic partnered Colgate Palmolive because Colgate is one of the best manufacturers of toothpaste therefore they want their patients to use best product.

She said: “People have been commending Colgate products and we as clinics have been testifying that Colgate products are the best for oral healthcare. When you visit your dentist and use Colgate toothpaste even if you do not have issues it would make your teeth strong.
