Lagos communities benefit from free healthcare services

The three-day initiative, organised in collaboration with the non-governmental organisation Livewell Initiative, aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) focused on health and well-being.

Services rendered included cardiovascular, arthritis, dental, eye checks, diabetes tests, malaria treatment, hepatitis screening, and blood pressure examinations.

Speaking at the event, the Aro of Egbin Kingdom, High Chief Olayemi Olukunga, commended Egbin Power’s consistent commitment to the community, describing the outreach as a tradition with lasting positive impacts.

One of the beneficiaries, Wasilat Ogundipe, expressed gratitude to the company for addressing the health needs of the community. She noted that the initiative provided timely access to healthcare for children, parents, and vulnerable residents.

The Community Liaison Officer of Ijede, Agbabiaka Muftau, said: “Egbin Power has consistently shown dedication to improving our health and well-being through this initiative.”

Similarly, a resident of Ipakan, Bello Monsuru, said, “The outreach has saved us significant healthcare costs over the years. We hope it continues because it offers access to quality healthcare.” Head of Corporate Communications and Branding at Egbin Power, Felix Ofulue, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting its host communities.

“At Egbin Power, we understand the importance of the health and well-being of our host communities. This outreach reflects our dedication to SDG 3 and belief that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right,” he stated.

Managing Director of Livewell Initiative, Dr Bisi Bright, applauded the partnership, emphasising its impact, “This collaboration with Egbin Power has brought significant improvements to the lives of residents, and we are proud to be part of it.”
