The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported two deaths and 11 new cases of Lassa fever across the country.
Also, according to the NCDC in its report for week 37 in 2025, a total of 895 Lassa fever cases have been recorded in Nigeria this year, leading to 166 deaths, with a CFR of 18.5%.
The report added that states such as Ondo, Bauchi, Edo, Taraba, and Ebonyi have so far accounted for 90% of Lassa fever cases across the nation.
A total of 21 states have been affected, as well as 106 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across Nigeria.
To prevent more deaths, NCDC Director-General (DG), Dr Jide Idris, has stressed early detection and treatment.
The NCDC DG has also urged states to boost public awareness, sanitation and early medical care.
Health workers have also been advised to stay vigilant and follow infection prevention protocols.
