ReddingtonReddington hospital, one of Nigeria’s foremost private, independent hospitals, has won the “Private Healthcare Provider of the year” award for the second time in succession at the Nigerian Health Excellence awards (NHEA). The award presented at a ceremony held on 26th June at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, follows Reddington receiving  further quality accreditation for meeting international healthcare standards earlier this year.

The Nigerian Health Excellence awards, considered to be one of the most prestigious and highly respected awards in the healthcare industry is an initiative of Global Health Project and Resources in Partnership with Anadach group. The annual awards ceremony is designed to celebrate and recognise the best individuals and organisations that have contributed in a remarkable manner to the improvement of the Nigerian healthcare sector.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Chief Executive Officer of the Reddington Hospital Group, Dr. Adeyemi Onabowale, stated “winning this award for the second time in a row is a massive vote of confidence that we are realising our ambition to make healthcare available in Nigeria that compares favourably to the very best international standards. The award is a testimony to not just the huge investment that has been made in our facilities and equipment but also to our ethos of continuously striving for excellence in all areas of the services we offer our patient community. Also, Reddington Hospital has created history by becoming the first healthcare facility in Nigeria to achieve re-accreditation by COHSASA (Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa) at the first attempt. The award is testimony to the hospital maintaining rigorous international quality standards in its healthcare practices.”

These comments were echoed by Reddington’s Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Matthews, who said “we are delighted that the continuous efforts of the whole Reddington team to provide outstanding services that meet our customers’ expectations, has been recognised in this way”.
