Gleanforte Academy Limited has announced plans aimed at strengthening local manufacturing capacity, reducing gaps caused by talent migration, and promoting youth entrepreneurship in the healthcare sector.
The weeklong event, scheduled to be held in Ibadan, Oyo State, will bring together over 5,000 young innovators for hands-on training in production, leadership, and regulatory compliance. Participants will have the opportunity to explore more than 2,000 locally manufactured products, learn from industry experts, and contribute to a self-reliant industrial and healthcare ecosystem.
Team Lead of GleanForte Academy Limited and fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN), Abiodun Ajibade, explained that the summit seeks to address the so-called “Japa Syndrome”, the mass migration of Nigerian youth abroad by encouraging productive engagement at home. He noted that while Nigerian youth have excelled globally in technology and entertainment, urgent involvement in industrial and healthcare manufacturing is critical for long-term economic stability.
The summit’s reach received a boost with WellaFitta Resources Limited pledging to sponsor the registration fees of 2,000 young entrepreneurs. Ajibade described this support as a vital complement to governmental initiatives, noting that the lack of entrepreneurial skills often leads youths into misguided career paths.
The summit is designed to equip participants with the tools needed to create and sustain solutions for national health and industrial challenges.
Representing WellaFitta, Mrs Jooda Ajibade, said the sponsorship aims to remove financial barriers for participants while advancing the firm’s vision of a self-reliant healthcare value chain through robust local manufacturing. She described the initiative as a convergence point for ideas that could evolve into actionable policies and partnerships capable of strengthening Nigeria’s industrial and healthcare ecosystem.
Organisers highlighted that the summit will include specialised clinics on regulatory compliance and product registration with relevant agencies. These sessions are intended to ensure product safety, adherence to international standards, and access to export opportunities. The exhibition component will also give young producers visibility and facilitate direct networking with industry experts and the public, further promoting innovation and self-reliance in Nigeria’s healthcare and industrial sectors.
