Kundiri resumes as VC, Federal University, Wukari
The Vice-Chancellor Federal University, Wukari, Prof. Abubakar Musa Kundiri, has sued for the cooperation of various stakeholders of the university in order to move the institution to the highest level. Kundiri made this plea at a gala night organised in his honour by the management of the university on his assumption of duty as the second Vice Chancellor of the institution.
According to Kundiri, “My journey to Wukari started when my name was announced as Vice Chancellor. My acceptance of the offer was tentative but I later changed my mind to come and today I am here. When I saw the crowd on the outskirt of Wukari that converged to welcome me, I became relaxed. What I experienced at Aku Uka’s Palace and my interaction with the Aku and other members of his traditional council made me relax the more. At the university, the reception also was overwhelming, with rousing cheers from staff and students which equally gave me encouragement”.
He asserted that the warm reception given to him by the university community and the people of Wukari would serve as a motivation for him to administer the university in a manner that everyone would be proud of. He further called on staff to support him in order to achieve the desired target of his administration.
He promised to develop the university academically by attracting capable hands and experts. Similarly, the former Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Federal University, Dutse, admonished and urged Wukari Local Government Chairman to institute scholarship for indigent students from the area.
Also speaking, the Director of Entrepreneurship, Federal University, Dutse, Dr. Mohammed Bello Umar who was on Prof. Kundiri’s entourage to Wukari, expressed delight over the solidarity shown the Vice-Chancellor. He described Kundiri as an astute professor and accomplished scholar whose services would be greatly missed at Dutse.
Registrar, Kwararafa University, Wukari, Joshua Sangari congratulated Kundiri and assured of his university’s assistance in all areas.
