“We are working with the association to make sure that we supply them with quality flours, we are partnering them to make sure they deliver good quality bread for the programme.

“After today’s exercise, we expect that everything they were taught by the NAFDAC and SON should be cascaded down the line, to ensure that the quality of the bread they are producing is of high standard and bromate-free.”

Deputy Director, NAFDAC, Sunday Onah identified the safety of water, cleanliness of food contact surface, maintenance of handwashing exercise, proper labeling and good storage practice, personal hygiene, and control of employee health conditions, as essential requirements for hygienic food production.

The State Chairman of AMBCN, Alhaji Raji Omotunde also emphasised the importance of the programme, noting that it will assist them to produce wholesome and hygienic bread for the pupils.

The Director of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Bunmi Oteju assured that the programme would soon commence, noting that bread will be part of the meals.
