Badagry demolition:  Appeal  Court adjourns  case to January  18,  2016


court.jpg-citynewsThe Lagos division of the Court of Appeal, Igbosere, Lagos has adjourned the hearing of alleged human rights abuse and wrongful demolition of over 1500 houses in the Atinporomeh community, Araromi Ale Extention community and Mowo phase 2 community in Badagry area of Lagos State to next year January 18.

The case was adjourned when it was brought to the notice of the presiding judge, Justice Anyanwu, by the appellant’s counsel, Declan Kemdirim, arguing that respondents 5-7 were not served with notice of hearing.
The appellant’s counsel declined continuation of the case on further request by Justice Anyanwu until it is established and confirmed that respondents 5-7 are served with hearing notice.
Also present as respondent in the matter, is the Director of Civil Litigation, E O. Oyenuga, represented the (respondents 1-4), Lagos State government.
