Court remands man for alleged breach of trust

A Magistrate Court sitting in Minna on Friday ordered the remand in prison custody of a man, Nura Suleiman, for alleged breach of trust.

The accused was arraigned in court on two-count charge of breach of trust and misappropriation, contrary to sections 312 and 309 of the Penal Code.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Alfred Auta, told the court that one Alhaji Aliyu Pandogari lodged a complaint against the accused.

Auta alleged that the complainant gave the accused the sum of N1 million to buy a Toyota Avensus car for him but that the accused converted the money into his personal use.

When the charges were read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor,thereafter, told the court that investigation into the matter was still ongoing and asked for an adjournment.

In her ruling, Magistrate Amina Musa, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison and adjourned the matter to Sept. 8, for further mention.
