A REFRESHINGLY new site, www.daylight.ng, has joined the league of online publications in Nigeria. According to the publisher, Azuh Amatus, the news site is a highly focused, vocal, reliable, impartial and agenda setting online newspaper with a difference.

Shedding light on his latest exploit, Azuh, a former Society Editor of The Sun Newspapers and the immediate past Editor of Entertainment Express and Sunday Express Newspapers, stated that Daylight would change the face of Nigerian journalism online and help usher in a new era for genuine practitioners.

Azuh, who also pioneered The Sun’s Showbiz Desk for six years, is one of the youngest members of the revered Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).

“Having put in almost two decades of my professional career in the traditional media, I have finally decided to explore new opportunities by setting up a serious online newspaper Nigerians and, indeed, the world will reckon with on a daily basis. Our vision is to be a leading and revered online media supplier of reliable newsworthy contents that will be beneficial to all, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or social status, through excellent and quality delivery of our services.”

Azuh stated that Daylight is a name he came across while reading his Bible and immediately fell in love with it.

“We reports general news ranging from politics to business, entertainment, crime, sports, opinion, health, relationship, fashion/lifestyle and anything under daylight. We also conduct high profile interviews with eminent Nigerians and celebrities.

This is the reason we pride ourselves as the ‘eyes of the nation.

“In fact, as the ‘eyes of the nation’, we will always ensure that we give Nigerians within and outside our shores the news as it breaks in very balanced, reliable and impartial reportorial on a daily basis. We want readers and advertisers to see us as their most reliable online newspaper and media partner.”

He added: “Again, advertisers can always count on us to effectively and efficiently help advertise and promote their goods and services online based on our wide reach,” he said.

Youthful and widely travelled, Azuh who holds a first and master’s degrees in mass communication and communication studies from the Lagos State University, said Daylight and its sister publication, Showbizplusng, which are being jointly published by Contacts Communications Incorporated, are already operating from Omole, Ojodu-Ikeja, Lagos State, where its corporate head office is located.

Azuh called on Nigerians to embrace and support the new online publication.

He further assured that Daylight would never fail in its professional duty of balanced and impartial news dissemination, especially to teeming/loyal readers and advertisers. Meanwhile, Daylight is expected to be formally launched at an elaborate ceremony soon.

“We will definitely inform the general public on the actual date, venue and other details once we conclude all arrangements,” Azuh concluded.
