
The Executive Director, UACN Plc, Mr. Joe Dada, said that the new TV show is meant to engender bonding in the family and by extension the society at large. He further said that the platform hopes to engage, educate, celebrate and reward its consumers. According to him, as the name applies, nothing is scripted in UAC Unscripted, because what a viewer or participant finds is what he gets.
“But to the Nigerian television viewing public who by now are used to a certain standard of entertainment on all our previous programmes, they know what to expect. This programme can only surpass your expectations. Comedy as a major vehicle for delivering joy and family relaxation and which has run through all our previous programmes will definitely not be lacking in UAC Unscripted.”
Dada maintained that the new offering, a 30-minute show, from his company is sure to raise the bar of TV reality shows in Nigeria and further deepen its engagement with the publics.
Disclosing that Okey Bakassi, a top-rate comedian will anchor the programme, the UACN boss said that the new show will consolidate the efforts to meet the communication needs of its publics which had let it to identifying comedy as a veritable platform to reach out.
“Alongside HS Media Group, our TV content providers, we have since then created a number of programme beginning with The Real Nigerian Show. Thisis a quiz programme on the history, geography and general knowledge of Nigeria with undergraduates of Nigerians Universities and Polytechnics only as participants.
This highly successful offering ran on the network service of NTA and a number of other local stations.”He said that after The Real Nigerian Show, the company went ahead to UAC laugh hour, UAC Soccer laugh hour, which is now giving way to UAC Unscripted after three years.
