MFM Church Rewards First Class, Distinction Graduates

THE General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Pastor Daniel K. Olukoya has rewarded about 180 First Class graduates and Distinction Grades from various universities and polytechnics with the sum of N91 million.

The students, who received the cash rewards of N500, 000 and N300, 000 respectively, were members of the church.

Addressing the congregation, who had gathered at the church’s August programme tagged: “Power Must Change Hand” at the Prayer City on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Olukoya said the First Class honours award first started with 12 students and that the number increased to 72 last year. This year, the number of honoured students rose to 180.

He said the award was established to encourage students, who are members of the church for their dedication to academic work, as well as for creating time to serve God.

The Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Bamitale Omole, who assisted the General Overseer’s wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Folashade Olukoya at the presentation, commended Dr. Olukoya for his kind gesture. He urged the recipients to appreciate the grace of God upon their lives, noting that many of their peers, with who they started together, could not complete their courses for different reasons.  

“This is their reward for dedication to their academic works, as well as serving God,” he said. He called on other churches to emulate MFM by encouraging hard-working students through similar awards.

“The award is worthy of emulation and I urge other households of faith to follow MFM’s steps to encourage hard work,” he said.

The students that benefitted from the 2014 academic year included the two that received NYSC Presidential honours, after the completion of their National Youth Service programme.
