Her professional journey began in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Lagos. Soon after, she embarked on a rigorous path of professional development, completing all 18 qualifying exams and accumulating 36 months of accounting experience to earn her first designation as an Associate Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2002.

Her pursuit of excellence did not stop there. As she progressed in her career into leadership
roles and made tangible contributions, she completed a two-year Executive MBA at the Lagos Business School in 2010 and later achieved Fellowships with both the ICAN and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) in 2013 and 2017, respectively. Her commitment to continuous learning culminated in additional qualifications as a Chartered Management Accountant of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) United Kingdom and a Chartered Global Management Accountant of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA).

With a career spanning 25 years, she has made significant contributions across the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream sectors of the Oil & Gas industry. Her expertise encompasses strategic financial planning, financial reporting, cost control, internal controls, risk management, and process improvements.

Her notable achievements include flawless financial reporting, the successful implementation of IFRS financial statements, and leading efforts to enhance internal controls and fraud prevention, including the prevention of incorrect payments through the implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other finance process automation solutions. To further strengthen her expertise in utilizing blockchain technology to enhance finance processes, risk management, and fraud prevention, she earned the designation of Certified Blockchain and Finance Professional.

This certification complements her leadership in executing RPA and other finance process automation projects, supported by her credentials as a ScrumMaster and Scrum Product Owner. Her work has also included the deployment of effective risk management strategies and securing approvals for substantial costs from joint venture partners.

Seamless Transition and Innovative Leadership
Her transition from Nigeria to Canada was marked by a seamless integration into the North American market, a feat that many immigrants find challenging. “By the grace of God and due to my in-depth understanding of the oil and gas value chain, I was able to transition my career in finance leadership from Nigeria to Canada without experiencing career regression” she explained.

Currently, she leads a team of experts at a Midstream Energy company in Canada. Her leadership is distinguished by her strategic approach and deep understanding of the industry’s nuances across the different oil and gas sectors, fiscal regimes, and geographical locations. In addition to her core professional responsibilities, she serves as a board member for a technology solutions provider based in Canada, specializing in delivering comprehensive software and hardware services. In this capacity, she contributes strategic insights and governance expertise, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of technological innovation and operational excellence.
