The General Overseer, Abundant Life Gospel Church and the Vice-Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos Chapter, Rev. Janet Onaolapo, has called on every citizen to fight and eradicate corruption that has become so endemic.
She made the call after declaring open the ‘Trade Fare’, one of the activities to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Church.
The “trade fare” was declared open by the Senior Pastor, Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo.
The seven-day event with the theme ‘Next Level’ started October 21, 2024 and ended yesterday, October 27, 2024 held in the Church’s premises, Peace Cathedral, Abundant Life Church, Iju Road, Agege.
“Corruption in Nigeria transcends every segment of the society including the legislature, the judiciary, civil servants, market women among others and it is only love for the nation, love for fellow citizen and fear of God that can change the narrative,” said Onaolapo.
The general overseer attributed the successful journey up to 40 years to the Grace of God, bothering on humility, transparency and accountability.
She advised women occupying the exalted position of leadership in the ministry like her to be themselves, eschew the attitude of low self-esteem, accordingly play the role of father and mother in the Church, but go extra mile to be humble, diplomatic and learn to listen because men will always be men.
Speaking at the event, Ighodalo called on Nigerians to be hopeful and decisive to fight every barrier to progress and not resort to running out of the country.
He also called on Churches to emulate Abundant Life Gospel Church by creating opportunities for their members to display their ingenuity in their fields of their endeavours as well as their knowledge of commerce.
Other ministers that were at the event include Presiding Bishop, Living Faith Church, Dr. David Oyedepo, Presiding Bishop, The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Dr. Mike Okonkwo, and Televangelist, Apostle Joshua Selmon, among others.
