The Proprietress, Manuels Private School, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos, Mrs Patricia Oladokun, has advised graduating pupils of the school to be good ambassadors and project the school’s image.

Speaking at the graduation and award ceremony of the school, Oladokun enjoined pupils to give priority to learning.

She advised the graduates to remain focused and always strive for excellence as they step up for higher academic pursuits, while shunning vices that could corrupt them.

She also appealed to government to assist private school owners with funding.

She said: “We give the best education that will spur pupils to succeed at the higher level of their education and career. We model a total child; academically, spiritually, physically, socially and otherwise.

“As such, government should come in to assist private school owners and add their own quota to the development of the child through funding because much of the fund is sourced by the school. It is the basic right of the child to be educated. I call on the graduands to shun vices that are tantamount to corruption like stealing, fighting, disobedience to parents and concentrate on their studies. I want you to be good ambassadors of the school and your family. Be focused, hardworking and determined. It is my prayer that all of you will emerge as champions,” she added.

The graduating Head Boy, Ekene Ofulue, commended parents for their labour of love and sacrifices to ensure they are educated.

He said, “Today is a very special day, a day of joy and happiness for me and fellow graduating pupils. I will seize this opportunity to thank parents on behalf of all students of this school, for your labour of love and sacrifices you have made and are still making to make sure we are educated. You have, through the Parents Teachers Association, supported the school to give us all-round education. We will make you proud and honour the name of this great school, to the glory of God Almighty.

Ofulue who enjoined the students to keep the good flag of the school flying, lauded the management for preparing them for future success.
